Ten-Minute Stretches to Avoid Back Pain
The Health Defrag
If you sit down all day, you’ve got to give yourself a break—in fact, a number of 10-minute breaks to freshen up. Call it a health defrag.
If I can use a computer analogy, one effect of an exercise or relaxation break is to give the body a ‘health defrag’.
Before a computer defrag, an analysis of fragmented files looks like this:
After the defrag, it looks like this:
Is there a similar process to ‘defrag’ your own body? Yep, there sure is.
Here are some defrag suggestions.
Strength and stretch
Spend ten minutes doing a few stretches. The Fix Back Pain ebook has the stretches you need.
Relaxation
It’s as simple as putting on the headphones and playing my Relaxation MP3. It takes a shade of over 8 minutes. It’s an essential feature of a work-fit program to calm you down.
Aerobic fitness – walk around the block.
Limber up! One of the best things you can do for your body is to go for a quick walk around the block once a day. Endorphins will be released, and more oxygen will be pumped into your head, making you feel better.

Juggling
One of the absolute best ways to take your mind off your work is to juggle. You can’t think about work and juggle at the same time.
Yoga
I recommend Yolanda Pettinato’s Simply Yoga program. The video is available online. A few poses each day will loosen up your mind and the rest of your body.
Tai Chi
I recommend Keith Jeffrey’s Easy Tai Chi program. It’s available online for a few shekels. You’ll have his Easy Tai Chi routine off-pat in a few viewings.
It only takes 4 minutes, not 10.
So there you go.
Look after yourself in the workplace.
You’ll feel better. Your back, neck and shoulders will feel better.
In the meantime stay tuned, highly tuned and remember to take a few ten-minute breaks during the day.
Regards and best wishes
