How can I avoid back pain.?
Start a regular and systematic strength and flexibility training program. That will get your skeleton back into better alignment and better supported by strong muscles.
Will losing weight help to relieve back pain?
If you're a man and you're over 30% body fat and a woman who's over 40% body fat chances yare you've lost quite a bit of your mobility. You'll be lacking flexibility because you can't adopt the flexibility postures thin people can. You're target: men 20% and women 30%. Chances are your back will feel a lot better.
Will swimming help relieve back pain?
Yes, sort of. As a general all round conditioner swimming is to good. It will help you maintain an ideal weight and improve your general mobility. But you need a strength and flexibility program to go with it..
Improve Your Strength and Flexibility
If you’ve got back pain, as no one has ever measured the strength and flexibility of the muscles, it is most likely the underlying cause of your problem.
For anyone with musculoskeletal dysfunction, measuring their strength and flexibility is as fundamental as measuring their fitness and blood pressure when they have metabolic dysfunction.
Do you know how strong and flexible you are? Do you know how much a lack of strength and flexibility is contributing to your dysfunction and pain?
What do you like about doing situps, press-ups, and squatting up and down? My research indicates that the people with the least amount of back pain are the people who are good at doing these simple exercises. They also go to the gym regularly. They know that keeping the muscles supporting their skeleton strong makes good sense.
Can you touch your toes? Can you sit up straight against a wall and sit up straight with your legs crossed?
Your back dysfunction has a cause – weak and tight muscles have allowed your pelvis and the bones above it to move out of alignment. Ligaments, tendons and muscles have been stretched beyond their pain threshold.
The pain is telling you to get yourself back in alignment.
Pills mask symptoms; strength and flexibility training exercises fix the problem.
For many people, a good, general strength and flexibility training program will go a long way to restoring poor function to good.
Joining a gym and starting a regular and systematic strength training program makes eminent sense. However, there are also exercises you can do at home. The four main strength exercises I recommend are five minutes long. If you can get into the habit of doing them three or more times a week, you will make good progress.
You can do the flexibility exercises at home in your lounge room while watching TV. An hour or two each evening, gradually loosening off tight muscles will prove to be your most effective treatment option.
Gradually, over the days, weeks, and months, you’ll strengthen your body and get it back in better alignment. The pain will go away.
It’s not a quick fix, either. I won’t beat around the bush. If it’s taken you years to draw bones out of alignment, it will take a few weeks or months to get them back into alignment.
The exercises are all laid out in the Fix Back Pain ebook.
In the meantime, stay highly tuned, and remember: I can give you the program, but I can’t do it for you.
Regards and best wishes
