How To Fix My Aching Back?
I stumbled across this gem of information from Australia’s National Health and Medical Research Council, which is self-proclaimed as the fountain of all health wisdom.
What Causes Acute Low Back Pain?
In around 95% of cases it is not possible to pinpoint the cause of the pain. However, it is not necessary to know the specific cause in order to manage the pain effectively.

Let’s replay that again.
- In 95% of cases, it is not possible to pinpoint the cause of the pain.
- It is not necessary to know the specific cause to manage the pain
effectively.
When this is the guidance you get from the Government, you want to roll your eyes to the back of your neck and poke your fingers down your throat. This is just pure, unadulterated, evidence-based medical bunkum.
If motor mechanics took this view of the world, they’d go out of business in a couple of weeks.
It’s a useless, unhelpful piece of information. It provides people with low back pain with absolutely no solace. It’s why many end up on the operating table.
But worse than that, it is just plain wrong. In most cases, musculoskeletal pain is personally generated by weak and tight muscles. There is a cause. Just search for weak and tight muscles.
No wonder ‘recovery from low back pain is much slower than previously thought’.
If you don’t know the cause of the problem, any treatment will be a stab in the dark. No wonder people aren’t getting better. Rubdowns, ray lamps, hot pads, crunches, electric shocks, and scalpels are all useless if they don’t treat the problem.
What's the best way to fix an aching back?
The cheapest, simplest and most effective way to fix an aching back is committing to doing a few strength and flexibility exercises several times a week,
Is there one exercise that will relieve back pain?
No, and anyone tries to sell you a program containing just one exercise is misleading you. There are at least 10 key strength and flexibility exercises you need to do to square up your skeleton and build up your strength.
On second thoughts, I wouldn’t bother. It won’t help you resolve the question, ‘How can I fix my aching back?’
The Cause
Contrary to the best medical advice around the world, musculoskeletal dysfunction does have a cause, in fact, several causes. The reason why the medical industry can’t identify the problem is that it’s not a medical problem, it’s a fitness problem. It’s time to improve your strength and flexibility.
In the meantime, stay highly tuned and remember, if you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.
